Termbases can be accessed locally, from a hard disk, or remotely using a DCOM or SOAP connection. You set up your connection by selecting Termbase Connection from the Tools menu and selecting the connection you want in the Termbase Connection dialog box.
When you are working with a local termbase in MultiTerm, you have access to all the termbase objects and data. It does not matter what role you have.
When you are working with remote termbases with MultiTerm, termbase access and user rights may be restricted by your user profile which can be linked to a role. The following table displays the access to local and remote termbases from MultiTerm. |
