About MultiTerm migration tool

- Extensible Markup Language. XML is a metalanguage written in SGML. It provides a flexible way to create information formats for sharing on the web and with other applications. MultiTerm exports termbase data to an XML file.

- feature that allows you to import termbase data from another application, for example MultiTerm 5 or MultiTerm '95 Plus. Use the Import Wizard to add new entries to your termbase or to change existing entries. Termbase data for import must be available in the new MultiTerm XML format.

MultiTerm Migration Tool

The MultiTerm iX Migration Tool is an efficient tool which allows you to migrate your MultiTerm 95 Plus and MultiTerm 5 termbases to MultiTerm XML Format. You can then import the XML files into a new or existing termbase in MultiTerm. Through the MultiTerm and MultiTerm Online interfaces you can carry out a wide range of operations. For example, you can search for term entries using different search options, filter for specific entries, edit entries, and change the term display.

The Migration Tool produces several files. The two most useful are the XDT file and the XML file. The XDT file contains the termbase definition. You use this to create a termbase in MultiTerm. The XML file contains all the termbase data. You populate termbases by importing this file.
