Editing an Entry

You can edit fields in an existing termbase entry at entry and index level. All editing functions are accessible via the Entry menu.

To edit an entry:

  1. Go to the entry that you want to edit. Select a layout and/or input model that is suitable.

  2. Select Edit from the Entry menu or press F2. MultiTerm switches to edit mode. The background of the pane turns dark grey to show that you are in edit mode.

  3. Select the label of the field you wish to edit and press [Enter} to open the editing box.

  4. Edit the field contents in the editing box and when you have finished press [Enter] to close it.

  5. To cancel an edit while the editing box is still open, press [Esc]. The editing box is closed and the original field contents are restored in the entry pane.

  6. To delete the selected field, press [Delete]. When prompted, click OK to confirm or Cancel if you decide not to delete.

Note: If you are editing a date field, use the XML date format in order for filtering to work properly. The XML date format is: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS. ("T" here is literal and all other letters are placeholders.)

Warning: Deleting a field also deletes any fields that are subordinate to that field.

  1. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have finished editing the entry.

  2. Make sure that all the mandatory fields are filled in, otherwise the entry cannot be saved.

  3. After filling in all the fields select Save from the Entry menu. Alternatively you can press [F10] on your keyboard. All changes to the current entry are saved to the termbase and are visible in the entry pane in display mode.
