Input models are templates that help you to control the entry of data into your termbase. They help to keep the entry of data consistent and can speed up the creation of entries.
You may define several input models for each termbase; a user may only use one input model at a time while editing.
Input models allow you to:
Specify one or more basic structures for all your entries.
Predefine default values for fields.
Decide whether, how often, and in what sequence, index and descriptive fields occur in new or changed entries.
Further specify who can edit which fields in a network environment.
Use the Input Model Wizard to create new input models. Existing input models can be manipulated as follows:
edit input models using the Input Model Wizard
save the input model to the file system as an XDM Input model file saved in XML format
load an input model back into MultiTerm or MultiTerm Administrator from the file system
delete the input model from your termbase
Notes:
Any fields that are marked as mandatory in the termbase definition are marked as mandatory in edit mode. This cannot be changed by the input model.
The default input model cannot be saved externally.
