            <P><B>To change the LPT1 settings:</B>
               <OL CLASS=STEP>
                     <LI>Bring
                     the guest PC window to the front.
                  
                     <LI>On the
                     Edit menu, click Settings.
                  
                     <LI>Click
                     the LPT1 setting.
                  
                     <LI>Select
                     the desired option:<BR>
                     
                     <UL CLASS=STEP>
                              <LI><B>None</B>
                              <OL CLASS=SUBSTEP>
                              <LI>Click None.<BR>
                              </OL>
                              
                              <LI><B>Host Parallel
                              Port</B>
                              <OL CLASS=SUBSTEP>
                           
                              <LI>Click Host
                              parallel port.
                           
                              <LI>Click on the
                              arrow next to the Host parallel port
                              box, and select a parallel port.
                           </OL>
                      </UL>
                     
                     <LI>Click
                     OK or Restart.</P>
                </OL>
                     <P CLASS=NOTE><B>Note</B>: If a guest PC is
                     currently running, and you change the LPT1
                     setting, you must restart the guest PC.
         
         <H2>LPT1 port settings</H2>
         
         <UL>
                     <LI><B>None<BR>
                     
                     </B>When this option is
                     selected, the <A HREF="../../shrd/pgs/hostguest.htm">guest</A> PC behaves as
                     though no device is connected to the LPT1
                     port.
                         
                     <LI><B>Host Parallel Port<BR>
                     
                     </B>When this option is
                     selected, the guest PC uses the specified host
                     parallel port for input and output through the
                     guest LPT1 port.</P>
                     
                     <P>The
                     guest PC will attempt to capture the host PC
                     parallel port at startup only. If the parallel
                     port has already been captured, the guest PC
                     will not be able to capture it. If the guest PC
                     succeeds in capturing the parallel port, the
                     parallel port is not released to the host PC
                     until the guest PC is shut down.
                     
          </UL>
                  
         <H2>LPT1 port</H2>
         
         <P>The
         LPT1 port on a PC is typically used for a printer.
         </P>
         
         <P>If you have a
         parallel device connected to the <A HREF="../../shrd/pgs/hostguest.htm">host</A> PC, and you want to make it
         accessible to the guest PC, use the Host parallel port
         option, and specify the host port to which the device is
         attached.</P>
