A remote volume may be shared as long as it is present on the host PC desktop.<BR> <LI>If desired, select a different drive letter.</P> <P CLASS=NOTE><B>Note</B>: Virtual PC automatically assigns the folder to a guest PC drive location. You may assign it to a different location by clicking on the arrow next to the drive letter box, and selecting a different drive letter.<BR> <LI>If desired, click Share every time. If you select this option, the folder will be shared every time you start up this guest PC.<BR> <LI>Click OK.<BR> </OL> <LI><B>Turn off sharing</B><BR> <OL CLASS=SUBSTEP> <LI>Click the folder that you no longer want to share. <LI>Click Unshare Folder. </OL> </UL> <LI>Click OK. </OL> <H2>Sharing a folder</H2> <P>Folder sharing allows a <A HREF="../../shrd/pgs/hostguest.htm">guest</A> PC to access a host PC folder or volume as if it were a guest PC drive. </P> <P>This feature provides a way to easily transfer files between the host and guest PC operating systems. For example, if you have downloaded shareware files with your host PC browser, you can share the host PC folder as a guest PC drive, and access the files in the guest PC environment.</P> <P>Folder sharing is provided by the Virtual PC additions; it is not a native PC feature. The Additions are included on any pre-installed hard disk image you may be using. If you are not using a pre-installed hard disk image, you will need to install the Additions manually.
