If the virtual machine is currently running or in a saved state, the Undo Drives feature will not be available. To enable Undo Drives, first shut down the virtual machine. <OL CLASS=STEP> <LI>Bring the PC window to the front. <LI>On the Edit menu, click Settings. <LI>Choose a virtual machine, click Settings. <LI>Click the Undo Drive setting. <LI>Click the check box to Enable undo drives. <LI>Select the desired option. <LI>Click OK or Restart.</P> </OL> <H2>Undo Drives</H2> <UL> </B>When the Undo Drives feature is enabled, a separate undo file is created. As changes are made to the virtual machine hard disk, those changes are written to the undo file, not to the original hard disk image file.</P> <P></B>The changes stored in the undo file can be incorporated into the original hard disk image file when the virtual machine is shut down.</BR> <P><B>Ask to undo changes<BR> </B>When this option is selected, and the user shuts down the virtual machine, the Shut Down dialog will contain four additional shut down options.</BR> <OL CLASS=STEP> <LI><B>Save PC state and keep changes<BR> </B>On shutdown the state of the virtual machine will be saved. Changes from the previous session will be saved and will be incorporated into the original hard disk on shutdown.<BR> <LI><B>Shut down PC and keep changes<BR> </B>On shutdown the state of the virtual machine will not be saved. Changes from the previous session will be incorporated into the original hard disk on shutdown.<BR> <LI><B>Turn off PC and keep changes<BR> </B>On shutdown changes from the previous session will be incorporated into the original hard disk and the virtual machine will be turned off.<BR> <LI><B>Turn off PC and undo changes<BR> </B>On shutdown, the virtual machine will be turned off and changes from the previous session will not be saved. No changes will be made to the original hard disk.<BR> </OL> <P CLASS=NOTE><B>Note</B>:The Shut Down and Turn Off features will suspend all virtual machine activity, and will require the operating system to go through the boot up process upon restart of the virtual machine.<P> <P><B>Commit hard drive changes now<BR> </B>With this box checked, changes from the undo file will be incorporated into the original hard drive on shutdown.<BR><P> <IMG SRC="../gfx/undochanges.gif"><P> <P><B>Always undo changes<BR> </B>When this option is selected, changes to the undo file are never saved, and no changes are made to the original hard drive.<BR> <P><B>Undo Folder Location<BR> </B>The default location for the Undo Folder can be changed by selecting a new location using the Browse button.
